Save The Fort Rally – Noon, 25 October at Fort Largs
Thanks to all of you who were able to join us today to support the preservation of Fort Largs. The rally was a lively event ably supported by the Fort Glanville Historical Association, the Military Vehicle Museum and the Nine Mile Snipers.
A rousing speech from ‘Stormin’ Norman Etherington, President of the National Trust and a beautiful rendition of the World War 2 classic ‘We’ll meet again’ by Eileen Darley set the scene perfectly.
It was great to see the interest from Channels 2, 7 and 9 and their evening news stories. Those who had never seen inside the fort were amazed by its quiet grandeur and shocked by its state of neglect. No wonder the Government doesn’t want the public inside!

And we will indeed meet again some sunny day to keep on with the fight for our Fort Largs!
