Heritage survey responses.
What do you think Council's role is in protecting and conserving heritage?
amongst other things Councils being a repository of the history associated therewith and ensure that access is available to all records .To the extent required in the public interest engage in fact finding via surveys polls etc and help others do work of listing properties / .items . My personal opinion is that where private properties are listed and protected in cases where owners object Councils should subsidise and assist in retaining and maintaining such properties through waiving rates and other means.
What measures and incentives do you support to protect and conserve local heritage?
What is the most important heritage protection issue in your local government area?
